HI EVERYONE
I dont think that I am the only one who is under the age of 18 and wants a normal job. I am 17 and a half and all jobs require you to be at least 18. Of coarse I can work at McDonalds or TacoBell, but I want something like clerical or customer service. I live in Sacramento CA. If anyone by any chance knows of any job opportunities like the ones that I want, PLEASE REPLY NOW!

You can work at customer service when u are 15 at the company i work at ( altho because it sells lotto tickets, thats illegal, but they still do it) however u dont get paid more, and i work for a grocery store. so thats not much of an upgrade from mcdonalds. I agree with u and its unfortunate that teens get all the jobs. Even at 18 theres not much u can get. Im 18 and have worked at sobeys for 2 and a half years. However after college i will be making 30 thousand a year which can go up to about 80 thousand a year. u just gotta wait it out i guess...just like everyone else. i wish the reality was otherwise.

In the Rescue Squad you have to be sixteen, but that's the Volunteer. You have to be eighteen to be a Foreman, with some kind of education. Flags have to be about fifteen or sixteen it may've changed. Chemical Operating out at Merck you can be sixteen, but might want to have most classes in the Summertime when you hit Sophomore year in high school. To work Lab billing you have to be fifteen and six months. To be a Construction worker, I think it depnds on what you do, Flags might be about fifteen, with parental permission. You'd have to be seventeen to have no parental permission I'd think. The Engineers and Contractors have to have a College degree of four years or higher. I've only been in the Construction team for five years. If you're driving a bulldozer you have to have a Drivers License, especially if you're on one of those backhoes. Did you know that my Grandfather drove a backhoe down US highway thirty-three...and that's about as stupid as you can get. Next thing I'll know is he'll be spending all of his money on a Hitachi Zaxis 330 LC which is one of those newer, and way bigger than your average backhoe. He'll have to go have it delivered for the backhoe and delivery $200,000 dollars. I wouldn't be surprised it it was $50 thousand. Whatever you do, don't be stupid with your job either...and wait until you're out of Education before you get a job. Most of these jobs now days require college degrees, so I'd watch out.

ashley--$80 grand at sobeys-if thats even spelled right, you're out of your mind, I live in toledo, ohio where the avergae salary is around $30 grand, and I've worked as a welder for the past 3 years and I'm only making $40 grand---I don't know who told you that but they must've been drunk or something

this topic annoys me. There has been hard enough times in the work force to find a decent full-time/part-time jobs. Especially for everybody. I strongly believe that for those under 18, are just taking jobs away from those who actually need a job. People under 18 just want to get what they want, while most others OVER 18, maybe even older than that have a job to get what they NEED. So quit complaining

It sucks...I like my occupation as a student as of now because I have to be their according to Federal law, acts, and standards and I can see why...
