This Is What I Think About Credit Cards

Haha! You all think having a credit card is good. Well, I've got better news. They're not good.

I only use my bank debit card and that's the best thing to have. I used to have a credit card and I got in debt because of it. I don't think teens should have credit cards because they don't know how to pay them off properly. Plus, my ma got in debt because of credit cards as well. I am just saying if you lose a job and can't pay the credit card off in full, then you're pretty much screwed. Plus, they're thinking about making the bill twice as high if you don't pay it off in full in 2006. Plus, I don't like how whenever kids get credit cards from their parents, it causes their parents to spoil them. It isn't showing much responsibility.

Credit cards are usefull if you use them wisely. If you spend loads and loads and you don't have enough money to pay for it then you are not smart at all. I always pay off my credit card bills (usually about £200 or $370) but I always know what money I have and don't have. Credit cards are usefull for building up your own credit history so at a later date you can get a loan or morgage. If you are not mature enough when you get your credit card and run into debt you might not think its all to bad because you will pay it off slowly, but infact it will affect you much more when you try to get a loan and they see you can't pay your bills. Only get one if you are mature enough and will be able to pay it off. If you cant then stick to a debit card. Also parents that give there kids credit cards, if there parents run into debt because of it you deserve it for being stupid enough to give them a card.

I think it is good for teens to get credit cards...when they're ready. How else are they going to estabish the credit they need for later? I have had a credit card for over a year now and have always paid my balance in full, although next month may be tricky because I have had alot of school expenses, but that's another reason why credit cards are good. If you have expenses and don't have the means to pay for them up front, you can pay them off in smaller chunks (although it will cost you more money over time). I had no purpose for a credit card in high school, especially when I didn't have expenses like I do now (that's what parents were for back then), but credit cards are basically a must have for college unless you want to call your mom for money all the time.

um credit cards are really good to have. and if you get in debt, that your stupid, and shouldnt have goten one in the first place because you have no self control

Credit cards are a bad idea for irresponsible teens, but some can take care of their finances. I'd personally rather not bring 300$ cash with me to pay for my textbooks. Credit cards are great for large purchases like that, if you aren't spending money you don't have. Credit cards aren't really an issue, it that people spend beyond their means.
