I Must Have A Credit Card

I know most girls on this website know how I feel, I must have a credit card! I feel like this: I am responsible, and I don't want to have to run to my mom everytime I want to buy something. All one has to do is set the credit card limit. I am a very responsible person I would never go over the limit. I dont get it she wants me to act my age but, she treats me like a baby. I have almost gotten my point across to her. Does anyone have any ideas, that I can use to convince my mom that I am old enough and I am responsible enough to have a credit card.

If you want to be responcible then out around the house and do chores without asking for allowence.Plus you need to act like a grown up.You also need to act your age and be mature.So if anytime you are in a bad mood go in your room and listen to your cd player and not blast the music.Try and calm yourself down before doing anything stupid.Do this for a while and if your mom is knowing this she might let you find a way to make extra cash without having her giving it to you all the time.Plus when asking her about it do it in a adult manner and dont whine or act like a child.You might be suprised what and what not your mom would do.She might also let you have your own credit card but if not then don't whine or get mad or complain.Just tell her it's ok and maybe next time if you show money responcibility she might let you have a credit card with a set limit.I hope this ed. I'm sorry but I don't care how responsible a 14-year-old is...the shouldn't own a credit card. There are some people who are over the age of 18 who can't pay their credit card bills out there and they have jobs. You could consider a debit card, but those could get you in trouble too.

Credit Cards are a big responsibility. Iam 28 and i have like 7 credit cards. Just ask your mom until she goes nuts.

i didn't ask for a credit card either. my parents just told me i'm gonna get one and period. they don't want me to loose all of my money and they don't want to have to carry a whole bunch of cash around for me so they got me a bank account and i'm getting a card this week!!!! So just talk to ur mom, and try to feed her the information on why it would be better for her, maybe she'll get u one! (thats how i got a cell phone)

well i dont really have advice for you because the way i got my credit card i didnt even see it coming im 13 now ad when i had my 13th b day my mom gave me a credit card (which i was surprised seeing how i never even asked for one) but the thing is i dont have to pay for anything when i go out because the credit card is for me but the acount is my moms so basicly she pays for everything i buy haha its great having one tho! i it! now i get to save up all the money that i get and she also gives me 3 dollars a day for lunch but i dont use it i just wait till i get home to eat and save up my money all the time so hopefuly ill have lots o money when i start college plus my parents are going to buy the car i want when i turn 16 YEAY! basicaly im spoiled .. i get everything i want but im very and resposible i dont lie to my parents i dont complain since theres nothing to complain about and everythings good in my life

Visa Buxx sounds like a good idea to me. Your mom can put however much money she wants on there and you can't spend anymore than that. Credit cards are complicated, if you don't pay in full every month, you have to pay interest and all this other stuff. Also, credit card complanies usually won't issue you are card of your own unless you're 18. So for now, I would suggest you talk to your mom about getting visa buxx or doing something else that would you.

Are you crazy?!!?!! you are only 14 years old, I don't care if you have saved every penny you have ever found on the ground, if I was your mother I wouldn't give you a credit card either. You should not have things to make you feel more independent until you actually ARE independent. I am 17, have my own job, pay for my own things, etc and I have a debit card, not a credit card. Besides, credit cards get expensive and your mother just giving you cash when you need it is a more economical decision on her part. I know how much you just want to feel grown up, but if you want money that you can spend whenever you want it, then you should earn it yourself babysitting or something.

My mom gave me a credit card, but I hardly ever use it. She pays the bills for it, so I'm only ever allowed to use it in emergencies (like when she forgot to pick me up from the airport and I didn't have any Canadian money so I couldn't use the payphones) or when I'm buying things she'd normally pay for anyways, like school supplies.

u really just need to get some sort of jog so that u don't have to be whining to your momma all the time that u need some dough...otherwise, just keep on bugging ur momma about it and maybe she'll get tired of it and just get u one...and by the way, is ur moms financial situation alright? maybe she can't really afford to be getting u a card or something....anyways...

Christina is totally right. Visa Buxx work exactly like a credit card does. Just some atms dont like it and you have to do wierd things to get cash. But still, its great because your parents have to add money to teh card from theirs so they decide whether or not u can get stuff. Well I'm a tell you like this. I was just like you and then I got a credit card...3 might I add. I was doing alright with it barely getting by. I was paying the minimum balance every month until I lost my job. Now I owe about 1500 when I combine the 3. The bill collectors call my house like every day and I get sick of it. Now I'm not trying to say that this will happen to you but you should listen to your mother. My mom told me not to get it but I didn't listen. I was going to college so Iwanted a credit card. Now I have bad credit and who knows when I'm going to pay my bills...and you know my mother is not ing me b/c she told me not to get it in the first place. So my advice to you is don't get a credit card at all, and if you do you need to get one with a 300 dollar limit.

well i would look more into visa buxs. it's like a prepaid credit card basically designed for teens. u can use it over the internet and in many stores. But when your out of money on your card u cant buy anything until u put more money on it. hope i ed
