Student Loans: do you really want them?
I am a senior and I chose a college that offered a significant amount of scholarship money over another college with a slightly better reputation but did not offer any money. My reasoning was that after college, I want to be free and clear, without any debt looming over me. It's psychologically depressing knowing that you owe someone money, and when you get to make real money for the first time, you don't want to have to pay for what you did in the past. For underclassmen, I recommend that you keep your grades up and study hard for your SAT's so that you can get as many merit scholarships as possible. Some colleges give thousands of dollars in scholarship money based on SAT's (>1360) alone.
